TANJUNG MALIM: Police managed to arrest a Covid-19 patient who escaped from Slim River Hospital here yesterday.
Tanjung Malim Police Chief, Superintendent Sulizmie Affendy Sulaiman (pix) said the police received a call from the hospital about a man with a blue bracelet who had escaped from ward 7 around 4.48pm
However, the 29-year-old man was detained around 6 p.m. by personnel from the Slim River Police Station Crime Prevention Patrol team near a gas station in the Bandar Baru Slim River area.
“A health team arrived, with full personal protective equipment (PPE) to take him back to the hospital,” he said yesterday in a statement.
Sulizmie Affendy said that based on the most recent information, test results from the health team confirmed that the man was negative for Covid-19 and that he would be allowed to leave the room tomorrow.
Police checks also found that the man had six records and had been arrested to assist in the investigation of the case under Articles 186 and 269 of the Penal Code and Article 22 (b) of the Infectious Diseases Prevention and Control Act of 1988 .Called
