Digi has announced a new exclusive postpaid package for Covid-19 frontline employees, civil servants, bank employees, and logistics and delivery services employees.

According to a press release, Digi Postpaid Smart Bundle offers eligible customers lower prices on select 4G smartphones with a 12-month contract on the Digi Postpaid 58 plan, priced at RM58 per month with 15GB of internet data. .

Eligible customers will also receive free additional 15GB data in the form of 500MB daily, along with a 20GB loyalty bonus that is 5GB for every six months they stay on the plan (limited to four times, up to two years of tenure) and unlimited calls to all networks.

Under the Smart package, customers can buy 4G smartphones like the Oppo A12 (32GB) for RM68, instead of its usual retail price of RM529.

Digi claims that eligible customers will also enjoy a waiver of device upfront payment and an additional RM120 in rebates on their postpaid plan’s monthly fees.

The company’s chief marketing officer, Praveen Rajan, hopes the plan will help ease the burden on leaders in Malaysia.

“We understand that affordability and connectivity are key priorities now, especially as the government has been encouraging businesses to allow their employees to work from home as we continue to fight this pandemic,” he said.

The plan is available from now until November 30 and eligible customers can sign up at Digi Stores or Digi Store Express nationwide. They will be asked to provide valid employee ID and other relevant personal identification documents during registration.

A frequently asked question states that while customers will be bound to a 12-month contract if they enroll in the plan with a device, they can also enroll only in the Digi Postpaid 58 plan, which will not have a contract, and will still be entitled to the RM120 refund under the smart package.
