Apple Now Has Surveys On USB Cables And SIM Eject Tools For iPhone Users

In the middle of the year, Apple conducted a customer survey about the charger plug. This, in a sense, resulted in such a charger plug not being included in the iPhone 12 box. Now, a new survey suggests what might be missing from the next iPhone box.

9to5Mac reports that Apple is conducting surveys on the Face ID user experience of iPhones. These are innocuous enough, but they somewhat reinforce the 2019 rumors that the next iPhones will come with Face ID and Touch ID. But along with them, there are questions about the USB cable and the SIM eject tool that come in the box.

For something that is used so frequently, Apple doesn’t include a USB-C to Lightning cable seems like a bad idea. The cord end of the charging setup is handled much more frequently than the charger plug. This makes them much more prone to damage. Then there’s the fact that attrition is an inescapable reality, and there’s no telling when they’ll fail.

The SIM eject tool, on the other hand, is something you will never use until you get a new phone. But along the same lines, there is no guarantee that everyone will have the old man with them when they change phones. Unless they are hoarders to some degree.

While it’s no guarantee that Apple will exclude them, it’s hard to shake the feeling that 2021 iPhones will have fewer accessories included than ever. Maybe it’s a sign of holding on tightly to the often-forgotten SIM eject tool.
