Presented in an over-the-ear form factor, AirPods Max headphones are attached with a stainless steel headband wrapped in soft-touch material and also feature a woven mesh cover. Additionally, Apple also stated that the headphone shells are made of anodized aluminum.

The AirPods Max are also equipped with a pair of custom-designed 40mm dynamic drivers that are accompanied by a dual neodymium ring magnet motor each. Like the AirPods Pro, Apple’s H1 chip is also present inside the new wireless headphones that enhance its key functions, such as the Adaptive EQ that measures and adjusts the quality of the sound that is delivered to the user in real time based on the Fit and seal the AirPods Max ear cushions.

Like the AirPods Pro, the new AirPods Max also comes with the active noise cancellation feature that uses eight microphones found in all earbuds. Similarly, there is also Transparency mode and support for spatial audio with dynamic head tracking.

Interestingly, the AirPods Max are also equipped with a digital crown like the Apple Watch. On headphones, it can be used to control volume, as well as music playback, phone calls, and to activate Siri. As with other AirPods, putting the AirPods Max will also automatically start audio playback.

As for battery life, Apple claimed that AirPods Max can provide up to 20 hours of listening time with ANC or Transparency mode turned on. In case you need to use them quickly, five minutes of charging will get you 1.5 hours of listening time and each AirPods Max comes with a Smart Case that helped save battery power when not in use.

Available in space gray, silver, green, sky blue and pink, the AirPods Max have a general shipping date of December 15, although the exact launch date in Malaysia is not yet known at the moment. You don’t have to guess your local price, though, as Apple has listed the new headphones on its Malaysian website for RM 2399.
