PETALING JAYA: PKR is ready to work with any politician who wants leadership free from corruption and abuse of power as he continues his quest for reform, says Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
The PKR president said that any effort to restore the mandate of the people must be based on defending the dignity of the people without losing sight of principles and idealism.
“The country has been saved from a state of emergency and I am grateful to the rulers for their care in defending the rule of law to prevent abuses.”
“We must not take lightly their strong advice and warnings about justice and abuse of power. Instead, we must all defend them so that the country does not fall into ruins,” he said.
Anwar said that PKR will continue its agenda to achieve reforms and that its efforts will focus on the principles of justice and prosperity for the people.
Separately, Anwar said leaders from both sides should put aside their differences to work together on strategies that help the economy recover from the effects of Covid-19.
“Both parties, the government and the opposition, must combine their efforts to develop effective strategies to counter the effects of Covid-19, as well as address unemployment and poverty,” he said.
