KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has denounced that political pressure is being exerted on him to reveal to the police the names of the members of Parliament who allegedly supported him, stressing that it is a matter between him and the King.
Speaking to reporters outside Bukit Aman yesterday, the PKR president said it was not a matter for the police.
“It is between me and His Highness the Yang di-Pertuan Agong. I gave the police the most cooperation. But the amazing thing is why the focus on the 121 names of the deputies.
“I have said that at this time the issue does not concern the police or the minister who had instructed the police to find out the names. This is an issue that has been presented by each party president to show that there are more than 120 ”, he added.
Anwar, who was called by the police to give his statement to the CID’s Special Investigation Unit, said he was treated well by the police who were “exceptionally polite” and stated that he was satisfied with his statement.
“This is clearly political harassment and, in my understanding, political instructions given to the police.
“The form of the questions and the issues that were raised were purely about the deputies, who they are, what their names are and if they provide security.
“This is not someone else’s business to know because it is my job as a deputy to present this to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong. It is not reasonable to question what was explicitly discussed between Your Highness and myself, ”he said.
Deputy Bukit Gelugor Ramkarpal Singh, who acted as his legal adviser, said a total of six reports had been opened against Anwar under Section 505 (b) of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications Commission Act. and Multimedia from Malaysia.
