KUALA LUMPUR: Minister of Federal Territories Tan Sri Annuar Musa (pix) said he is willing to cooperate with the police following allegations that he did not comply with the standard operating procedure (SOP) for the Motion Control Order (MCO) during a recent event.

He also said that the police must study all complaints to ensure that the investigation is carried out in a transparent manner, adding that he understood that the organizer of the event had been called in by the police to give a statement and assist in the investigation of the incident.

“He has contacted me (by the police) and I welcome him, there is no perception that there is a different set of SOPs if it is a minister.

“It (the investigation) must continue, there must be no double standards. If there is a complaint, you have to investigate it to find out what really happened, ”he said when meeting with reporters after delivering the aid to Chow Kit here today.

He also urged the public to leave the matter to the authorities and stop speculating.

Previously, an image showing Annuar eating with other people seated at the same table during an event on Saturday had gone viral on social media.

Earlier, Annuar visited the home of merchant Saniah Taib, 55, who has to support his disabled 22-year-old daughter to deliver some essentials.

Saniah caught the attention of netizens following the news that she had to take her daughter with her everywhere around Chow Kit and Jalan Tuanku Abdul to earn a living selling toys.

Annuar said the ministry would immediately help Saniah find more comfortable accommodation. – Called
