PETALING JAYA: More help from Wilayah Cakna will be provided to the poor in Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya to help them cope with the second conditional motion control (MCO) order.
Following the announcement that Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, and Putrajaya will be under MCO status starting at 12:01 a.m. on Tuesday (October 14), Federal Territories Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa said there was an urgent need to help the poor.
“Definitely the lives of many city dwellers will be affected. I am sure that Wilayah Cakna 3.0 is much needed, especially for the lower income groups,” he said in a tweet.
Sources revealed that discussion on the Wilayah Cakna initiative will begin on Tuesday (October 13).
Annuar also tweeted that he would chair the Federal Territories crisis management center with heads of various departments on a daily basis, personally overseeing the implementation of the conditional MCO.
“I pray to Allah that all the inhabitants of the Federal Territories meet the challenges of the conditional MCO with courage and patience.
“We will focus on breaking the chains of Covid-19 again. Stay home … stay safe … stay together,” he tweeted.
Annuar also said that he hoped the media, including television and radio, would broadcast all standard operating procedures and regulations as clearly as possible, to ensure that confusion among returnees from Sabah is not repeated.
He said that many of those who returned from Sabah had misunderstood SOPs, resulting in some of those who followed him being labeled as defiant and receiving double standard treatment.
