KUALA LUMPUR: Tan Sri Annuar Musa (Photo) has refuted allegations that 42 assets owned by the Kuala Lumpur City Council (DBKL) were sold during his tenure as Minister of Federal Territories.

It stated that DBKL had not submitted applications to sell assets or land banks to date.

“I want to emphasize here that until this second date, there have been no requests from DBKL to sell assets,” he said at a press conference in Parliament on Thursday (November 19).

Annuar repeated his denial three times during the press conference, saying that he already instructed his lawyers to take legal action against the accusations made by deputy cheras Tan Kok Wai on Wednesday (November 18).

“I am disappointed by such accusations made by a longtime MP. You certainly have the opportunity to speak within Parliament so that I can respond. But he chose to speak outside Parliament.

“Because he made those accusations outside of Parliament, they are subject to certain laws and I have instructed my lawyers to take action.

“I take these allegations seriously,” he said.

Tan had claimed that 42 DBKL land assets were sold during Annuar’s time as Minister of Federal Territories.

On Tuesday (November 17), the Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), Wong Kah Woh, said that based on its procedures, it found that DBKL did not have any POE for the disposition or sale of its land.

It said there were 97 DBKL land transactions that were carried out without reference to any standard operating procedures since 2011.

Meanwhile, Annuar said all 97 transactions were made during the previous administration of Pakatan Harapan and Barisan Nasional.

“Pakatan had the opportunity in the 22 months they were in government, they should have solved it.

“If there are unresolved issues, we, the Perikatan Nasional government, will continue to follow up on these issues based on current procedures,” he said.

Annuar added that he has instructed his ministry to scrutinize and improve the current standard operating procedures for the disposal or sale of DBKL land.
