SURVEY | For the past 20 years, Malaysiakini has, without fail, been named one of the top news creators by lowering the curtain of the year.

A news maker is defined as “someone whose actions make headlines, affect the course of public discourse and impact Malaysian politics, for better or for worse.”

Malaysiakini has nominated 22 candidates for the Newsmaker of 2020 award.

A total of 1,013 respondents participated in the survey. They voted indicating their preference for each of the nominees, with 0 being the lowest and 10 votes being the highest.
