KUALA LUMPUR: AmBank Group is expanding its specific refund assistance program until June 30, 21 to support SMEs and Malaysians affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
AmBank Group CEO Datuk Sulaiman Mohd Tahir said in a statement on Monday that the bank had already provided loan and facility repayment assistance for more than RM11bil so far.
By announcing the extension, the bank intends to provide further assistance to clients affected by job loss or facing reduced monthly income due to the pandemic.
In summary, since the start of the moratorium period in March, AmBank has reached out to its loan and financing clients through mass text messages, phone calls and engagement with clients, emails, advertisements on websites and networking platforms. social.
Selected AmBank branches have also been opened to assist clients facing financial constraints.
Sulaiman said that AmBank was making customized rescheduling and restructuring plans available to accommodate and meet its clients’ respective financial commitments.
“Our relationship managers and front-line customer service staff are ready to lend a hand when interacting with our clients.
“We have reached out to more than 500,000 customers to offer payment assistance. As of mid-October 2020, we have processed more than 60,000 applications from individual clients and SMEs and have approved close to 100% of these applications.
“We are pleased to have extended loan and facility repayment assistance amounting to more than RM11 billion,” he added.
Sulaiman said AmBank would continue to engage its clients who have not yet applied, especially those in affected industries that are severely affected by the pandemic.
The Payment Assistance Request is available on the AmBank website to facilitate clients’ stay in the Conditional Motion Control Order (CMCO) areas.
The bank also said that throughout the CMCO period, it encouraged clients to use AmBank’s digital banking platform, AmOnline, for their business transactions.
