PETALING JAYA: Ally Mukhriz, daughter of Parti Pejuang Tanah Air chairman Mukhriz Mahathir, apologized for disobeying the motion control order regulations and said her actions were “completely irresponsible”.

In a post on Instagram, Ally (Meera Alyanna Mukhriz) said she was deeply embarrassed by what her indiscretions had brought to her friends and family.

“There is absolutely no excuse for my actions and you have every right to be disappointed, but that doesn’t outweigh my disappointment in myself,” she wrote. “So sorry. Breaking the curfew at 12 in the morning was not only foolish on my part, but it was totally irresponsible considering the current pandemic we are going through. “

She said that she had gone with her husband (Ezran Daud Cheah) and two other friends to the Salute pub in Taman Tun Dr Ismail to celebrate a friend’s birthday.

At around 1 a.m., the police arrived and they were arrested for violating the movement control order and subsequently fined 1,000 ringgit.

The public apology comes a day after Mukhriz confirmed that his daughter and son-in-law were among those detained by police on Saturday night.

Mukhriz had said that he was disappointed in his behavior. “I have already told my family members to set a good example and not break the RMCO rules, so I am disappointed that this happened,” he said.
