B-Town lead actress Alia Bhatt became the target of online trolls after her photo of Rishi Kapoor’s funeral service surfaced online.
In the viral photo, the Raazi The actor could be seen holding her phone, after which, trolls began attacking her for using her phone during the funeral.
However, fans soon jumped to set the record straight, defending Alia by saying the actor had been calling Rishi’s daughter, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, who would not be there to pay her last respects to her deceased father.
Riddhima, who lives in New Delhi, received a special permit to travel to Mumbai by road, but was unable to make it to the funeral procedures on time due to the blockade imposed across the country due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Bollywood legend Rishi Kapoor last breathed on Thursday morning after he was rushed to the hospital on Wednesday over complaints of shortness of breath. The 67-year-old man had been fighting cancer since 2018.
The news of his death came just a day after another Bollywood icon, Irrfan Khan, passed away on Wednesday.
