KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 16): AirAsia Group Bhd is implementing GE Aviation’s Network Operations Insights (NOI) platform across all economy airline operations to help reduce the impact of flight disruptions and save costs.

In a joint statement by AirAsia and GE Aviation yesterday, AirAsia Group Chief Operating Officer (COO) Javed Malik said the group remains committed to providing the best in terms of safe, affordable and on-time services.

“Now more than ever, it is important that we continue to enhance our digital capabilities to deliver an improved customer experience on the ground and in the air,” said Javed.

According to the statement, NOI highlights the impact and cost of disruption, allowing airline operations managers to make data-driven decisions as operations change in real time.

“Before NOI, getting data from various systems was very manual and impractical. Now, live views quantify the impact of operational disruption on passengers, crew, costs, and revenue. Managers can run what-if simulations of cancellations, delays or downgrades to evaluate options, and can review the history of outage events to identify potential improvements to the process, ”the statement said.

In Bursa Malaysia today, AirAsia shares were trading unchanged at 59 sen at 11.04 a.m., with a market capitalization of approximately RM1.97 billion. The stock saw around 3.58 million shares traded.
