PETALING JAYA: Air Selangor has announced that the supply of water to users in four territories has resumed from noon on Saturday (September 5), with a full recovery expected next week.
The head of corporate communications, Elina Baseri, said in a statement that a total of 667 areas will be the first group to receive water supply between September 5 (noon) and September 7 (midnight) with an estimated recovery of 51 , 6%.
The second group involving 469 areas will receive water supply from September 7 (midnight) to September 8 (midnight), with an estimated recovery rate of 87.9%.
From September 8 (midnight) to September 9 (6 am), the third group will engage the remaining 156 areas to achieve a full recovery.
“Efforts are underway to stabilize the water supply distribution system in order to accelerate the process of restoring the water supply to the affected areas.
“Air Selangor expects the water supply to fully recover by 6 am on September 9,” Elina noted.
Air Selangor urged users who have already been supplied with water to use the water wisely to ensure an effective recovery process for other affected areas.
“Users can get the water supply through public taps and the Local Service Center (PKS) open 24 hours during the recovery period,” he said.
Air Selangor also recommended that users adhere to the guidelines stipulated in the Recovery Motion Control Order (MCO) when taking the water supply in the Comprehensive Service Center and public water pipes.
“Users who come to fetch water are encouraged to wear face masks and practice a physical distance of one meter while queuing,” he said.
