Air Force personnel die after hitting pothole, hit by truck in KL

KUALA LUMPUR: An Air Force personnel were struck and killed by a truck after they lost control of their motorcycle and fell after hitting a pothole in Jalan Kuching here.

“The victim was on his way to work in Subang on Friday (November 6). While driving on the left side of the road, he passed a water-filled hole in the road.

“That led to him losing control of his motorcycle and he fell. A truck on the right struck him,” Kuala Lumpur’s chief of investigation and traffic enforcement, Asst Comm Zulkefly Yahya, said in a statement on Friday.

The victim has been identified as 28-year-old Corporal Mohd Husaini Mohd Nasir.

ACP Zulkefly added that the truck driver only realized that something had struck the rear of his vehicle and stopped his vehicle to inspect it.

“He got out and saw the victim on the ground,” he said.

The victim died at the scene of the accident after sustaining head injuries. His body has been sent to Kuala Lumpur Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

The case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Highway Transportation Act of 1987 for causing death by reckless driving.
