Ahmad Jazlan resigns as MPOB chairman on January 6

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub resigns as Chairman of the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) effective January 6, 2021.

In a statement today, Ahmad Jazlan, who is also a member of the Machang Parliament, said that he had sent his resignation letter to the Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities Datuk Mohd Khairuddin Aman Razali on Wednesday.

“I express my sincere thanks to the Minister for his trust in me in the performance of my functions as president of the MPOB.

“I also appreciate all the cooperation that the board members, management, and all MPOB workers gave me during my time at this agency.

“I pray that MPOB continues to progress and stay competitive by helping the rakyat involved in the commodity (palm), including stakeholders,” he said.

Today it was reported that Ahmad Jazlan had said that he was ready to resign as MPOB president if the Perikatan Nasional (PN) government does not dissolve Parliament by the end of January. – Bernama
