A widely shared video clip shows a woman, believed to be a teacher, throwing a child into a classroom.

PASS MORE: The government will review the rules and procedures of day care centers and kindergartens to prevent cases of child abuse.

Deputy Minister for Women, Family and Community Development, Siti Zailah Mohd Yusoff, said the move was also to ensure the safety of children at the facility.

He said the review was to prevent incidents of child abuse from recurring, as shown in a video recording that went viral on social media on Friday.

The 10-second video clip showed a woman, believed to be a kindergarten teacher, who is seen lift and throw a child enraged in front of a group of children.

Siti Zailah said the ministry took the incident seriously, adding that it hoped that severe action would be taken against the person involved.

“We have also been informed that the police have opened an investigative document on the incident.

“Counseling services have also been provided to help parents who have a traumatic experience due to such incidents,” he said.

Siti Zailah also urged the public to report any such incidents to Talian Kasih’s hotline at 15999 or by sending a WhatsApp message to 019-2615999.
