Hasnul Zulkarnain’s membership in the PPBM is at stake, says the party’s general secretary, Hamzah Zainudin.

LARUT: The validity of Assemblyman Titi Serong Hasnul Zulkarnain Abd Munaim’s membership in PPBM is at stake pending a decision on how he voted on a confidence motion in the Perak state assembly on December 4.

PPBM Secretary General Hamzah Zainudin said the party’s constitution states that any member who does not respect the party line will automatically lose their membership.

“Perhaps after this, Perak Umno would send us evidence (that Hasnul Zulkarnain did not support the motion). If tested, it takes effect automatically. We have taken similar actions at the national level, there is no exception at the division or state level, ”he said.

Hasnul has been quoted on various news sites as saying that he was awaiting a decision from the party after being accused of rejecting the vote of confidence in Ahmad Faizal Azumu as lying to kiss.

The motion was rejected by 48 votes to 10 and one abstention, leading to Faizal’s resignation and the formation of a new state government this week.

Hasnul joined PPBM on June 3. He had been a member of Amanah before, but left the party on March 9 to sit as an independent after the political realignment that led to the formation of a new state government of Perikatan Nasional.

Hamzah, who is also a Larut MP, had recently asked for a formal letter to symbolize the coalition of PN, Barisan Nasional, and Gabungan Parti Sarawak.

“When I discuss it, no one can accuse me of raising issues such as that the little ones eat the big ones, since there are responsibilities for each party to join,” he said.

His suggestion came after Umno’s vice president, Mohamed Khaled Nordin, said that another new coalition was unnecessary.
