PETALING JAYA: After purchasing tanker trucks for Selangor residents affected by water outages earlier this month, preacher and philanthropist Ebit Lew decided to send aid to Sabah as the state fights the Covid-19 pandemic.
In a Facebook post, he expressed concern about the situation in the state, adding that he had received many messages asking for help.
“This morning, we sent a medical team to Sabah. We ship medical items like personal protective equipment (PPE), face shields, masks and shoe covers for use by hospital and clinic staff, as well as front-line staff, ”he said.
Earlier this month, Lew purchased two large tanker trucks to help residents affected by water outages in Selangor and distributed water to residents outside the Batu Caves.
This was after odor contamination was discovered in raw water sources, leaving a total of 1,196,457 Air Selangor user accounts without water.
Sabah yesterday registered 352 cases of Covid-19, or 54.2% of the 649 infections reported in the country. It has also reported 102 deaths in October alone, as the state battles the third wave of the pandemic.
