KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama): Affin Bank Bhd has confirmed that an employee at its headquarters here tested positive for Covid-19 and is being treated at a hospital.
The bank said it is following up on the contacts of employees and other parties that the infected staff member may have come into contact with at Menara Affin, Jalan Raja Chulan.
“Employees in direct contact with affected personnel will be screened and screened for Covid-19. All personnel on the affected floor have left the premises and will be working from home.
“The bank has taken precautionary measures to mitigate infection risks for other employees and customers,” it said in a statement on Thursday (October 15).
The headquarters will be closed for sanitation reasons and will reopen on Monday (October 19), the bank said, adding that it is taking all precautionary measures to ensure the health and safety of its staff and clients.
“The affected office is being disinfected accordingly. Disinfection will also take place throughout the building,” he said.
Employees have been advised to practice personal hygiene and adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) issued by the Ministry of Health, as well as conditional motion control order (MCO) regulations.
The bank has also assured its clients that its operations will not be affected during this period in accordance with its business continuity plan, which includes backup systems, recovery facilities, remote work arrangements and alternative communication channels.
