KUALA LUMPUR: The main suspects of the Macau scam syndicate and online gambling activities, Zaidi Kanapiah or also known as Addy Kanna and Goh Leong Yeong or Alvin Goh, as well as two policemen, have been arrested under the Crime Prevention Act (Little) for two years. .

“The order was issued on November 25 and 26 before everyone was brought before the Crime Prevention Board (Ministry of the Interior) for further action to be taken.
“Apart from that, the police also arrested another suspected man, a Chinese national known as Chen De Wei, 31, who is believed to be the leader of the Macao Scam union in the country, in a special operation on Mont Kiara. here since October 15. to October 20, he said today at a special press conference in Bukit Aman.
Huzir said Chen acted as a liaison between the unions in Malaysia and China and also had ties to Addy Kanna and Alvin.
He said investigations found that Chen was also on the list of people wanted by Chinese authorities for fraud crimes in Macau.
“Chen and six other suspects, five Chinese citizens and a local, have been detained for 38 days under section 4 (2) (a) of the Crime Prevention Act 1959.
“They will be brought to the Crime Prevention Board on January 8,” he said, adding that a total of 12 unions, including the one headed by Chen, were recently crippled through the Special Ops Dadu Center.
Previously, media reported that the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) arrested Alvin and Addy on October 2-3 on suspicion of carrying out Macau fraud and online gambling activities targeting victims in China and cooperating. with posters of fraud abroad.
The MACC also detained and questioned several famous celebrities, police officers and staff believed to have protected the union.
Meanwhile, commenting on the shooting of General Operations Force (GOF) personnel on the Malaysian-Thai border, Huzir said the police had arrested 22 smugglers, involving 18 locals and four Thais.
“All of the suspects are still in pre-trial detention to assist in the investigations of the case and we are seeking the cooperation of our counterparts in Thailand to catch three more Thais,” he said.
On November 25, local media reported that GOF personnel were slightly injured after being shot while on duty at the Malaysian-Thai border near Bukit Kayu Hitam.
That was the second such incident after the shooting involving two staff members and a group of smugglers some 600 meters from the TS9 command post in Padang Besar, Perlis, in the early morning of October 24.
