GOMBAK: A selfie of an actress allegedly showing her crossing state lines during a bike ride without permission has gotten her in trouble with the police.

“On October 20, the Gombak Police Station Chief saw a post by Instagram account holder Belladally that read ‘Woohoo Genting Sempah with @ diyanabanana!’

“The uploaded photo showed two women on bicycles and the account holder was suspected of having crossed state lines without permission from the police,” Gombak OCPD Asst Comm Arifai Tarawe said in a statement on Wednesday (October 21).

Investigations showed that the two had moved from a house in Dutamas to a seafood restaurant near the Orang Asli Gombak Hospital on October 18.

“At around 8:30 AM, they cycled through Jalan Gombak Lama to Genting Sempah. After cycling for about 10 km, they both got back to their car and headed back to Kuala Lumpur.

“Both were arrested on October 20, after reporting to the police at the district police headquarters. A statement was taken from them and they were released on bail,” he said.

Investigations are still ongoing, including under Section 269 of the Penal Code and Section 22 (b) of the Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Act (APPPB) of 1988 (Act 342).

“The police advise everyone to comply with the SOPs of the conditional movement control order (MCO) that has been applied to break the chain of infection by Covid-19,” he said.
