PETALING JAYA: Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin has sent birthday wishes to the ruler of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.

She congratulated Sultan Sharafuddin on his 75th birthday yesterday and shared how he had shown his love for his people.

“This year is obviously different from previous years as there will be no celebration on his special day.

“The idea that people are at risk and their well-being has always been their top priority since the beginning of the pandemic,” he said in a post on the Facebook page of the Royal Selangor Office.

Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin praised Sultan Sharafuddin’s concern for the well-being of the people and his continued support of leaders and authorities.

“The way Tuanku has always been so concerned about the impact on the rakyat has touched many hearts.

“Your constant reminders and your continued support of our leaders and authorities only serve to show that you truly care and value every soul.

“You keep saying that it is a wake-up call so that we are all always grateful, live simply, pray for each other and, most importantly, stay united,” he said.

Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin revealed that Sultan Sharafuddin has been monitoring daily cases of Covid-19, especially in Selangor, and had expressed deep concern as the number of cases increased.

“So for the people of Selangor and everyone else in Malaysia, please know that you are all in your prayers, always,” he said.

He wished the Sultan’s longevity, happiness, and good health, as well as that the Sultan would be blessed with the guidance to continue ruling Selangor with fairness and justice.
