A new cluster informed in Sabah

Follow-up actions and contact tests of confirmed cases are being carried out in the affected areas.

PETALING JAYA: The Ministry of Health reported today about a new Covid-19 cluster in Sabah.

On December 20, the index case for the Jalan Sedco group, involving the Tawau and Kalabakan district, was reported.

As of December 24, 26 people had been tested and 14 of them were positive cases.

In a statement, Chief Health Officer Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said 484 clusters had been reported as of today. Of that number, 271 groups have finished.

This includes three groups, Kerengge, Alila and Gemilang, that finished today.

“We have an increase in the number of cases in 45 groups,” said Noor Hisham.

These groups include the Tampoi Jaya group, which recorded an increase of 78 cases, the Jalan Stadium construction site group (63), and the Beringin group (30).
