HONG KONG, Nov. 3 (SCMP): A five-year-old boy reportedly stayed by his mother’s side for more than 30 hours after she was stabbed to death in a Hong Kong apartment.
A police source said officers were investigating whether the 28-year-old woman was killed by her husband before he left the house at the Chi Fu building on Portland Street in Mong Kok and jumped to her death shortly after midnight. Sunday.
The 32-year-old suspect fell from a nearby building around 1 a.m.Monday. The man was the holder of a round trip permit, a travel document to the mainland to enter the city.

The murder case came to light shortly before noon Tuesday when a friend of the woman visited the Portland Street apartment.

“The boy opened the door and the friend found the boy’s mother dead in the bathroom,” the source said.
He said an initial examination showed the woman sustained knife wounds to the head and neck.
“The boy was unharmed and was sent to the hospital for a checkup,” he said.
Another source said the victim’s friend told police the boy had said his father killed his mother and left the apartment, adding that an investigation was underway to confirm this.
“We are also finding out if the boy saw the attack,” he said.
Police believe the incident occurred around midnight Sunday when neighbors heard sounds of an argument, but no report was made to police. – South China morning post
