KUALA LUMPUR: The Islamic Economic Development Foundation of Malaysia (YaPEIM) has suggested that an “open trade” initiative be implemented in all states that begins tomorrow in the Federal Territories.
The foundation’s president, Mohd Redza Shah Abdul Wahid, said the initiative was a good opportunity for residents of Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan to open small-scale stalls or businesses and take advantage of the permit granted in the best possible way.
“Such implementation must be applied in all states, as long as it complies with the SOPs and guarantees cleanliness,” he said today in a statement here.
On Tuesday, Federal Territories Minister Annuar Musa announced that residents could conduct their business in any suitable area in the three territories starting November 15.
However, traders must apply for a temporary business license valid for six months on the Kuala Lumpur City Council website.
Redza said that YaPEIM through Ar Rahnu YaPEIM also provided support in the form of gold-based financing to those affected by Covid-19.
Those who have lost their source of income can use an online sales platform through CMASA.my as an additional option in addition to opening trade positions, he said.
