KUALA LUMPUR: Bank Rakyat CEO Rosman Mohamed will end his service at the bank on January 31.

Rosman, who begins his license today, will also resign from all other positions he held, including as a board member of Rakyat Management Services Sdn Bhd, Rakyat Holdings Sdn Bhd and Yayasan Bank Rakyat, effective immediately, the bank said.

“His wish has been conveyed to the bank’s board of directors and to the Ministry of Business Development and Cooperatives,” he said in a statement.

To ensure that the bank’s leadership runs smoothly, Bank Rakyat said that Syed Abdul Aziz Syed Hassan, Deputy General Director of Operations, will be the interim CEO from today.

A replacement plan for the CEO position is being put in place and will be announced soon.

Rosman began his service at the bank as a member of the board on April 1, 2019. He was appointed interim managing director on August 1, 2019, before being named CEO on February 1 of this year.
