PETALING JAYA: A total of RM7.3 thousand was received within five days after the PPP car license plate series was auctioned, says the Department of Highway Transportation (JPJ).
JPJ Deputy Managing Director (Strategy and Operations) Zamakshari Hanipah (Photo) said in a statement on Wednesday (November 11) that the bidding for the number series was opened from November 5 to November 9 through the online bidding system JPJebid.
“The series of PPP registration numbers that was opened for five days collected the highest collections of RM7,257,785 and has exceeded the SYG series offer by a difference of RM3.7 thousand.
PPP 8999 was the most popular car license plate series with 33 bidders. The highest bid was RM12,888.
PPP 999 was the second most popular, with 28 bidders and the highest bid was RM106,000.
Zamakshari said that the remaining unregistered car plate numbers under the series would be open to the public at the following minimum prices:
Gold numbers at a minimum offer price of RM 20,000, attractive two-digit numbers at RM 3000, attractive 3-digit numbers at RM 2500, attractive four-digit numbers at RM 2000, popular numbers at RM 500 and regular numbers at RM300 .
Interested buyers are encouraged to contact their state office or JPJ branch.
“The public is also encouraged to have a public mySIKAP ID to get the list of available numbers that have not yet been registered, which can be purchased online.
“The JPJebid system is one of JPJ’s efforts to digitize its service delivery. JPJeBid offers transparency from the registration transaction until the payment is made.
“Bidders can know the position (ranking) in real time and there is no element of human intervention,” he said.
From tomorrow, November 12 to November 16, 2020, Zamakshari revealed that the bids for the series “KFA” for Kedah and “PPQ” for Penang will be opened.
The new minimum offer price starts from RM315 to RM21,000, which includes a 5% increase in the minimum offer price.
