KUALA LUMPUR: The 2021 budget, which was presented last week, was formulated by the government in an effort to maintain and save jobs affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, said Prime Minister’s Department (Special Functions) Minister Datuk Seri Mohd. Redzuan Md Yusof (pix).

He said the world is currently facing a huge economic challenge and appropriate measures must be taken to help not only employees, but also employers.

He said that the necessary measures must also be taken to mobilize economic activities affected by the pandemic.

“Those affected today are workers and employers, we want to preserve (keep) their jobs by giving incentives not only to employees but also to those who provide employment.

“(Under the 2021 Budget) We have a salary subsidy program, we also have a program in which we give incentives (to employers) to hire local workers to take over the jobs that were previously given to foreigners. Our goal is to ensure that the economy can sustain itself in the face of such enormous challenges, ”he said.

He said it as a guest on Bernama TV Ruang Bicara’s talk show, titled ‘Budget 2021: Access to Employment and Increased Income’, yesterday.

Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, when he presented the 2021 Budget in Dewan Rakyat last Friday, said that the government would implement the Job Generation Guarantee Plan (JanaKerja), which involves the provision of 500,000 new posts. of work, starting next year.
