PETALING JAYA: Malaysians reacted to the news of another unscheduled water outage that will affect millions of residents across the state due to pollution in Sungai Selangor once again with much scorn and scorn.

On The Star’s official Facebook page, many were furious at the frequent water outages and wondering when the taps would be running again.

Elaine Foong lamented the sudden nature of the water outages: “But without warning. My pipes are dry before 6pm. “

Kavitha Kathervieloo couldn’t contain her anger and wondered how much more people could take: “I’m already frustrated with the confinement, I can’t go back to her hometown.”

TY Lui also didn’t bite the words: “It’s pathetic to see this coming from a supposedly more developed state.”

Michael Leongmc was not satisfied either: “What is the state government doing with this situation? How many more times must the rakyat suffer? For the love of God, please put an end to this mess. “

Some commenters, such as Pathma Nathan, also wondered if there was an element of foul play involved in the many setbacks: “It appears that Selangor’s water supply is being sabotaged time and time again.”

Jamieclaire Heng Vickie chimed in with similar suspicions: “I felt like someone did this on purpose.

“Contaminate the water on purpose, maybe I mean to. It cannot be that frequent. So suspicious here. “

Jhansi Rani was one of many who called for more punitive action: “Really fed up. Only severe punishment will stop this garbage. “

Susan Siew said that factories that pollute rivers should be punished with one year of closure: “Please be strict. Rakyat suffers from Covid-19 and water pollution. “

In a response to The Star on Twitter, @theIvanLoh also called for the incarceration of the guilty: “Life imprisonment for the guilty PLEASE! Fines don’t work anymore! “

Others, like @shenithagurl on The Star’s official Instagram page, were unhappy with Air Selangor due to the timing of the incident: “Why are they so careless? The festival is just around the corner. They don’t seem to bother. “

Kennady Soosay echoed his sentiments and questioned the frequency of such interruptions: “There may not be a competent team on board… this cannot continue.

“Deepavali and many preparations must be made. Don’t ever tell us this is caused by illegal factories again. “

However, Haidi Rustam said that it was not Air Selangor that caused the problem as they only provide services for water treatment.

“Blame the enforcement agencies,” he said.

Shobie Murugasapillai just wanted action to be taken: “Air Selangor better go after the real rioters ASAP.”
