PETALING JAYA: Mohamed Azmin Ali has been appointed Director of Elections of Perikatan Nasional (PN) to lead the coalition’s preparations for the 15th general election.

PN Secretary General Hamzah Zainudin said the coalition wanted to strengthen its position as the leading party of the current government, adding that its supreme council agreed to form a state liaison body to coordinate activities at the state level.

“The PN president has appointed a state liaison committee chair who will convene and chair all state liaison committee meetings.

“The youth wing of the PN led by Khairil Nizam Khirudin is also asked to increase activities at the grassroots level to strengthen cooperation among party members.

“The supreme council believes that these decisions will enhance the work of the PN at all stages and enhance coordination between component parts,” it said today in a statement.

Azmin, the chief economy minister, is also the PN’s chief of information and a member of the Supreme Council of the PPBM.
