KUALA LUMPUR (November 10): Uniqlo will open its first roadside “megastore” in the country. This means that the store “will not be in a mall.”

It will be “a roadside community store,” “surrounded by residential townships, schools and office buildings,” Uniqlo Malaysia said in a statement on its Facebook page.

Being located at DA Square @ Damansara Avenue, the store “has been carefully designed to ensure sufficient space and accessibility for everyone, including families with children, the elderly and people with disabilities, and will have its own parking for our customers.”

Uniqlo Malaysia and Singapore CEO Yuki Yamada explained in a statement that the announcement of the new roadside store “coincides” with its 10th anniversary in Malaysia this month.

“Over the years, we have developed a strong presence here with an online store and 51 brick-and-mortar stores located in major cities and towns in 12 states,” he said.

Yamada said the roadside store marks Uniqlo’s “continued expansion into this market and he hoped it would complement its existing network of shopping center outlets.”

“Essentially, the new Uniqlo store on the road will serve as a close-to-home store for customers in Bandar Sri Damansara and the surrounding municipalities, giving locals the opportunity to enjoy a quick and convenient trip to the store,” added Yamada. .

The roadside mega store is scheduled to open in December.

Malaysia will be the fifth country outside of Japan and the third in Southeast Asia to have such a store.
