Covid-19: Klang EPF closes for a day after an employee tests positive

KLANG: The Klang branch of the Employee Provident Fund (EPF) was closed for a day on Tuesday (Nov 10) for disinfection and sanitation, after a staff member tested positive for Covid-19.

A statement from the EPF’s corporate affairs department said the employee was currently in treatment.

“The EPF will continue to take the necessary steps to ensure the health and safety of our employees and members of the public.

“EPF Klang employees who were identified as close contacts have undergone COVID-19 smear tests and are currently in the mandatory 14-day quarantine period as per National Security Council (MKN) guidelines,” said the release.

He said that all members, employers and employees should be diligent in practicing Covid-19 preventive standard operating procedures.

“Together, we can help flatten the curve,” said the EPF.

EPF members who have scheduled meetings for Tuesday are requested to log into the Janji Temu Online facility (www.kwsp.gov.my/janjitemu) to reschedule their visits.

The branch will reopen to members on November 11, from 9 am to 2 pm.
