Manchester United were in debt to Bruno Fernandes, as his double earned the Red Devils a 3-1 victory over Everton at Goodison Park, which boosted morale.
United entered the game with mounting speculation about the future of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
However, the United manager insisted that he is not worried about his future. And that confidence seemed to be in place as they secured victory at Goodison. However, they had to fight back after falling behind Bernard’s first game.
The first chance of the game fell to Dominic Calvert-Lewin, but he was simply unable to throw Bernard’s cross at the target.
At the other end, the ball fell temptingly for Anthony Martial, but he threw a wide volley.
The Toffees took the lead at 19 minutes thanks to Brazilian Bernard. He held onto the ball after Victor Lindelof had put it in his way. Taking his time, he zigzagged in and out before passing David De Gea at his near post.

The advantage, however, did not last long. Fernandes (25) shot an excellent header into the corner of the net by Jordan Pickford after a Luke Shaw cross into the box.

Fernandes then took his second after 33 minutes. After a good set-up play, Fernandes passed the ball with a cross into the box. The ball seemed to graze Marcus Rashford’s head and hit the net at the far post. However, after closing inspection, the goal was credited to Fernandes.
Everton started the second half brilliantly while looking for an equalizer.
However, they consider themselves lucky not to concede a penalty when Pickford fumbled the ball and then appeared to knock Harry Maguire down.
After a VAR check, no penalty was imposed.
It was a similar case at the other end when Maguire caught Lucas Digne in the box with a poorly timed entry. While it looked like a penalty, no foul was committed due to an offside in preparation.

That drew some furious reactions from the Everton players, who were outraged at the tackle.
When the game turned to the other end, Rashford met the goal only to be rejected by Pickford.
But there was still time for Edinson Cavani to score a third for United at the end, his first goal for the Red Devils. The goal was created by Fernandes, who enjoyed a stellar afternoon.

United were also indebted to Fred, who enjoyed another solid game in midfield and now seems to have found his best form in the United jersey.
However, the afternoon was Fernandes, who ignored those who affirm that “he can only score penalties” emphatically.

After their promise earlier in the season, Everton have lost three in a row and remain fifth for now.
United, meanwhile, rises to 13th but is just three points behind the Toffees in a congested Premier League table.
