The LTE version of the Samsung Galaxy S20 Fan Edition (FE) will go on sale in Malaysia very soon and is RM700 cheaper than the 5G variant. The first sale will be on 11/11 and you can get an additional discount of RM400 during the Shopee flash sale.
The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE LTE is officially priced in Malaysia at RM2,699. However, you can get it for just 2299 RM from 11:59 p.m. on November 10, exclusively at the official Samsung store in Shopee.
According to the listing, there are 440 units available. The S20 FE LTE version comes in 3 colors: lavender (230 units), red (80 units) and orange (130 units).
So what’s the difference to the Galaxy S20 FE 5G which costs RM3,399? In addition to the lack of 5G support, the cheaper variant of the Galaxy S20 FE LTE runs on an Exynos 990 processor instead of the more favorable Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 unit. From Shopee’s listing, the device still gets 8GB of RAM, but you get half the internal storage at 128GB. You can still expand the storage even further by inserting a microSD card.
The rest of the specs remain unchanged and that includes a 6.5 ″ Full HD + AMOLED display that drives a high 120Hz refresh rate. For imaging, you get a triple camera setup consisting of a 12MP main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide shooter, and an 8MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. The punched hole in the screen houses a 32MP selfie camera.
The Fan Edition retains most of the flagship features of the Galaxy S20 series. You still get stereo speakers, IP68-rated water and dust resistance, as well as support for Samsung Pay.
The device is powered by a large 4,500mAh battery that supports 25W fast charging via USB-C. However, keep in mind that the box only includes a 15W charger.
On top of that, you also get wireless charging support, as well as wireless power sharing, which turns your phone into a temporary charging pad. If you need to multitask on a larger screen, the FE is also compatible with Samsung Dex wireless.
