A UiTM staff member tests positive for Covid-19

PETALING JAYA: UiTM Holdings Group of Companies has confirmed that one of its employees has contracted Covid-19.

The employee, who is based out of his office at Dataran PHB Saujana, tested positive for the virus on Sunday (November 1).

The employee is currently receiving treatment at a government hospital, he said in a statement.

“The employee is suspected of contracting the virus outside of the office, as the employee had been working from home since October 12,” he said.

The group said it is taking all possible measures to mitigate the spread of the virus and ensure the safety of its employees.

Following the discovery, it had immediately closed its office at Dataran PHB until further notice and is undergoing complete disinfection in accordance with Ministry of Health guidelines.

“The Ministry of Health, as well as our Group Human Capital, are conducting a detailed tracking of the contracts to identify and inform those who had close contact with the employee, as well as to investigate the source of infection from where the employee may have hired him. , ” He said.

The group said it has been carrying out various measures to contain the spread of the virus, including temperature checks of all employees, visitors, suppliers, contractors and customers at its business facilities, and routine hygiene exercises.

He urged all employees to remain calm and continue to follow the rules of the conditional motion control order (MCO), the group’s work-from-home policy, and other warnings issued while taking precautionary measures such as the practice of distancing physical and good personal hygiene.

He said he will also continue to take the necessary steps to ensure everyone’s safety.
