PETALING JAYA: All Members of Parliament must respond to Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s call to stop fighting and focus on people supporting Budget 2021.
Alliance For Safe Community President Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye said Her Majesty’s advice was very appropriate as the budget is urgently needed to rescue the country.
“I personally believe that His Majesty’s call must be heard and followed. We can see that the King is very concerned about the welfare and well-being of the rakyat, ”he said.
Lee added that attention should be paid to the ongoing battle against Covid-19 and the economic problems currently facing the country.
“I believe that the parliamentarians … will support the budget so that it is carried out.
“Supporting it does not mean that they cannot express opinions and give suggestions on how to improve it. They can still ask questions while having a constructive conversation about it, ”Lee said, adding that MPs must now show political maturity.
“All the deputies have their own parties and political ideology, but that does not mean that they cannot work together.
“Seeing that some of the Oppositions are quite responsive in handling this crisis, I think we can get positive results on it,” Lee said.
