Charred body found in car near Sepang

SEPANG: On Wednesday (October 28) the charred body of a man was found in a burned-out vehicle near Kota Warisan here.

Sepang OCPD Asst Comm Wan Kamarul Azran Wan Yusof said they were alerted after receiving a distress call about an explosion around 3.30 am.

“The caller, who is staying at a shelter along Jalan Airport City 2, went to investigate and saw fire in the secondary jungle and called 999.

“Our investigators went to the scene and found the burned remains of a Toyota Harrier.

“The fire was put out by the Fire and Rescue Department and a burned body was found in the front passenger seat,” he said Wednesday.

He said checks on the vehicle’s chassis number revealed that it was owned by an Indian.

“The body was 90% burned and had to be removed by the Fire and Rescue Department.

“Checks at the scene revealed burn marks 10 meters from the vehicle,” he said, adding that the body was sent to Serdang Hospital for an autopsy.

ACP Wan Kamarul Azran said that they would only classify the case once they receive the results of the autopsy, which will take place on Thursday (October 29) morning.
