KUALA LUMPUR: The Electoral Commission (EC) received 308,451 new voter registration requests and 41,688 requests to change the polling station address from July 1 to September 30 of this year.

EC Secretary Ikmalrudin Ishak said that all applications were contained in the Supplemental Electoral Register for the third quarter of 2020 (RDPT) which will be on display for 14 days from tomorrow (October 28) to November 10 at 914 locations across the country.

During the period, those who applied to register as new voters or change the address of their polling stations, between July 1 and September 30 of this year, are advised to review the electoral roll, he said in a statement here today.

He said verification can be done through various methods, namely at the exhibition venues by scanning the QR code provided, or by browsing the official portal of the state election offices, or by physically visiting the state election offices.

He said that for the exhibition, the EC will not place a copy of the RDPT book in the venues, but will provide an A4-size notice containing the QR code for the corresponding parliamentary constituency.

“This method is to prevent people from checking the name in PDRT by tapping the book, which in turn can lead to the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.

“All applicants are advised to verify their names on the RDPT and if their names are on the list then they can make a claim using Form B,” he said.

Ikmalrudin said that registered voters who wish to object to the inclusion of any individual’s name in a constituency can do so by completing Form C.

He said both Forms B and C can be downloaded from the state election offices portal and must be submitted to the Registrar (state electoral director) during office hours on any business day during the RDPT display period.

He said that during the RDPT display period, the EC would also display the list of names of those who had been removed from the electoral roll for various reasons according to Regulations 10 and 25 (2) of the Elections Regulations (Voter Registration) from 2002.

“Any questions about the RDPT exhibit can be reached through the EC hotline at 03-8892 7018 or any state election office or visit the EC website at https://pengundi.spr.gov.my/ or through the apps for ‘My SPR Semak’ smartphones, “he said. Called
