Police track truck driver involved in hit-and-run in Puchong

KUALA LUMPUR: Police are tracking a truck driver involved in a hit-and-run that caused the death of a fire and rescue department officer along Jalan Puchong-Dengkil, Puchong, Selangor tonight.

The head of Selangor’s Traffic Investigations and Enforcement Department, Superintendent Azman Shari’at, said the victim was identified as Anuar Harun, 42, a senior fire superintendent from the Petaling district who died at the scene after that his motorcycle collided with the truck.

“The victim died of serious head injuries after he was believed to have been hit by the truck in an incident at the scene, ie before the Batu 14 overpass, while on his way to Puchong.

“The victim’s Yamaha NVX motorcycle was damaged to the front and right side, while details of the truck that sped toward Sunway are still unknown,” he said in a statement today.

Azman said the truck driver has yet to file a police report and that the case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the 1987 Highway Transportation Act.

Police have also urged those with information about the incident to come forward and assist with the investigation. -Called
