PETALING JAYA: The Ministry of Education said today that schools in Seremban would be closed from Monday to November 9 after the district was declared a red zone.
The closure will affect 177 schools and learning institutions.
“The boarding schools are also obliged to close and parents must take their children home from the shelters.
“Students who wish to stay in shelters will be placed under the care of the warden and will be provided meals for the next two weeks,” the ministry said.
He also said that students who have to take international exams during these two weeks will need to obtain approval letters from their schools or institutions.
“During these two weeks, the school administrator must make sure that his teaching staff is teaching classes online,” he added.

Two secondary schools in Perak closed for a week
Abu Bakar Al-Baqir Secondary School in Bagan Serai and Pekan Baru School in Parit Buntar, both in Perak, will be closed until November 2 for disinfection and cleaning, the education office announced.
Seven other schools were previously ordered to close due to the Covid-19 infection involving teachers and students. They are SMK Klian Pauh in Taiping; SMK Aminuddin Baki, Chemor and SMK Dato Haji Mohd Taib in Ipoh; Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Klebang Jaya, SK Tanah Kebun and SMK Raja Lope Nor Rashid, Parit Buntar and SK Lekir Batu 8 in Sitiawan, Manjung.
