KUALA LUMPUR, October 22 – Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) takes legal action against AirAsia X Bhd (AAX) to claim RM78.16 million as outstanding aviation charges that the airline failed to collect at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) .

The airport operator said that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Malaysia Airports (Sepang) Sdn Bhd (MASSB), had filed a subpoena and statement of claim in the Kuala Lumpur High Court against the airline.

“The outstanding aviation charges include passenger service charges, passenger service security charges, airport charges, aircraft parking charges, check-in counter charges, landing charges and late payment charges,” he said in a presentation. to Bursa Malaysia.

As part of the civil lawsuit, MASSB is also seeking an order that its contractual and continuing lien on the properties of AAX users in KLIA will only be canceled once the airline has fully settled the amount owed.

MAHB added that user properties include any aircraft, parts, accessories, vehicles, equipment and / or any other property that belongs to and / or is under the control of AAX or any carrier designated by the airline. – Bernama
