DBKL official tests positive for Covid-19

KUALA LUMPUR: Another Kuala Lumpur City Council (DBKL) employee tested positive for Covid-19, making it the third case involving DBKL staff.

In a statement on Wednesday (October 21), the employee of the Property Valuation and Management Department underwent a swab test on October 18 at Klinik Kesihatan Rawang when he attended a meeting with another DBKL employee (first positive case ) September 30th.

“The employee was later confirmed to be infected on October 20 and sent to Sungai Buloh Hospital. From September 30 to October 20, the person did not show any symptoms. DBKL and the Department of Health of the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur are in the middle of following up contacts for the patient, “said DBKL.

He added that a complete cleanup was carried out from 9 to 11 am on October 21 in Menara TH Perdana, where the department was located.

The operation was carried out by the DBKL Department of Health and Environment, as well as by the building owners.

DBKL had also sent the patient’s close contact list to the Gombak Health District Office on October 21, while officials from the Health Ministry had also come to the scene for risk analysis.

Operations at Menara TH Perdana continued normally, with strict compliance with standard operating procedures for the prevention of Covid-19 among staff and visitors.
