Witness Chong Yue Fatt, 57, who was the first person to find the body on the 10th day of Nora Anne’s search and rescue (SAR) operation, said that when he saw the body, he yelled loudly to alert to the members of his team who had found the body.

“As soon as we found the body, we all tried to contact the authorities but we couldn’t because there was no phone coverage. I told an Indian on our team to leave the area and tell his father to call the fire brigade to come to the scene.

“While we awaited the arrival of the authorities, we reminded each other that we should not approach the body so as not to compromise or destroy the evidence. We waited a long time, about an hour or two, ”said witness number 28 in Mandarin.

“I was heading to the water treatment plant in Gunung Berembun to work around 7pm. That’s when I saw, at a glance, a woman without clothes bathing with her back to me, ”he said.

Air Selangor Negeri Sembilan Sdn Bhd (SAINS) operator said that even though it was getting dark, he could still see the woman clearly, adding that it was normal for those staying at the resort to bathe in the area.

Firdaus said he informed the Civil Defense Force (APM) two days after what he had seen when he heard the news of the missing girl in the area.

A preliminary post-mortem report revealed that there were no criminal elements in Nora Anne’s death and that the teenager had died of gastrointestinal bleeding, due to prolonged stress and starvation.
