KUALA LUMPUR: The Employee Provident Fund (EPF) will temporarily close all offices and counters in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Labuan from Thursday until further notice.

In a statement issued Wednesday, it said the shutdown was due to the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) and the recent directive to work from home announced for these states.

The EPF said that all previous “Janji Temu Online” (JTO) appointments at EPF offices in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Labuan will be canceled with immediate effect.

“Members who have made appointments to visit the Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Labuan offices during the CMCO period will have to reschedule their appointments after the control order is lifted.

“Members and employers are urged to opt for the online services of EPF, i-Akaun (member) and i-Akaun (employer), which work as usual,” he said.

As for the payment of contributions, it can still be done through Internet banking, at the counter of registered banking agents and through the i-Akaun (Employer) portal on the EPF website.

Members and employers are advised to obtain information only from official EPF channels.

The EPF said that for further clarification, they should call the Contact Management Center at 03-8922 6000.

“The EPF is taking a very cautious position regarding the growing number of COVID-19 cases in these states and across the country.

“While we understand that the closure may pose some inconvenience to the public, we remain focused on prioritizing the health and safety of our members and employers from different locations who visit our counters and offices every day,” he said.
