Xiaomi has just presented its new wireless charging technology that boasts an incredible 80W output. Not only is it faster than the 50W fast wireless charging of the Mi 10 Ultra, it is also faster than most fast wired chargers on the market.
With a modified Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro with a 4,000 mAh battery, the 80 W wireless charger can charge 50% in just 8 minutes and charge 100% in just 19 minutes. When charged with a 30W wireless charger, Xiaomi claims that a phone with a similar battery capacity will take 25 minutes to charge to 50% and 69 minutes to fully charge.
At the moment, the current Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro with a 4,500mAh battery takes 45 minutes to charge 100% with its 50W fast cable charger, while its 30W wireless charger takes 65 minutes to fully charge.
According to Xiaomi, they hope to set a new charging benchmark with the new 80W wireless charging technology. There is no mention of commercial availability so far, but it could be featured with next year’s flagship smartphones.
In the demo video below, it appears that the charger is driving an 18.75V 4.4A output. The phone charges to 10% in just 1 minute, 50% in 8 minutes, and 100% in 19 minutes.
