Don’t take PCOS lightly, says Ismail Sabri

KUALA LUMPUR: Chief Minister (Security Group) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has reminded the public not to take standard operating procedures (SOPs) lightly, especially the use of masks, because the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO ) is still being applied across the country.

Although only a few locations are being placed under the improved and conditional MCO, this does not mean that other areas are free from the law, he said.

He said that the Infectious Diseases Prevention and Control Act of 1988 (Law 342) was still in force while the RMCO is being implemented throughout the country and measures could be taken in case of non-compliance with order.

“Although we declare EMCO and CMCO in some locations or localities, the whole of Malaysia is still in MCO, but with slightly looser restrictions when we file RMCO. As long as an MCO exists, whether conditional, enhanced or recoverable, it is still subject to Law 342.

“The crimes listed in the law can be enforced and legal action can be taken,” he said today at a virtual press conference via the Defense Ministry’s Facebook page. –Called
