KUALA LUMPUR, October 18 – Malaysia-based infrastructure company Gamuda Berhad is the only Malaysian company to feature on Forbes’ 2020 World’s Best Employers list.

The company was ranked 44th in a ranking of 50 companies worldwide.

According to Forbes, partnered with market research firm Statista to compile the ranking by surveying 160,000 full- and part-time workers from 58 countries who work for companies with operations in multiple nations or regions.

“The surveys were conducted continuously from June to July, and participants were asked to rate their willingness to recommend their own employers to friends and family.

“They were also asked to rate their satisfaction with their employers’ Covid-19 responses and to rate their employers on their image, economic footprint, talent development, gender equality and social responsibility,” he said.

As one of the largest construction companies in Malaysia, Gamuda has undertaken various projects both locally and abroad.

In addition to construction, it also deals with oil and gas, mining and chemical operations.

In the rankings, South Korea’s Samsung ranked first, closely followed by US companies Amazon and IBM in second and third, respectively.
