MELAKA (Bernama): There is no need to reorganize the cabinet at this time as the current government is doing well, especially with the country still fighting the spread of Covid-19, says Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Md Yusof.

The minister of the Prime Minister’s Department (Special Functions) said that the rumors about a cabinet shake-up that had spread could have been a personal statement made by some leaders and they did not represent any party in Perikatan Nasional.

“I had a meeting with the prime minister (Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin) yesterday and during the discussion, we do not see the need for a cabinet shakeup at this time.

“When you see that the cabinet is not working well, then a decision can be made to reorganize it. Therefore, there is no need to pressure the prime minister to reorganize the cabinet,” he told reporters after a dinner with members. from the press. and electronic media in Melaka here on Saturday (October 17).

Redzuan, who is a member of the supreme council of Bersatu, said that all the leaders of the Perikatan coalition party, both without or in office, should unite to strengthen the administration of the government for the benefit and well-being of the people.

He said that all political party leaders must also be responsible and fight for the people, especially to alleviate their concerns about the country’s political crisis, which is still unstable, and the economic situation, which is affected by the spread of Covid. -19.

Redzuan, who is a deputy for Alor Gajah, said that selfish leaders should be rejected because they would give a negative impact, especially to the government’s efforts to curb the spread of the pandemic.

Meanwhile, he said Muhyiddin should not give in to demands from some quarters, including asking him to resign, as he had been doing his duties well.
